La Gomera gets EUROPEAN CHARTER FOR SUSTAINABLE TOURISM. The certificate will be delivered by the Agency Europarc to The National Parks next September 27 in Romania.
The nomination was submitted by the Garajonay National Park and by AIDER (Island Association for Rural Development) last May, with the support and commitment of the Cabildo de La Gomera Island, all the councils of the island, The Plan de Medianías (Canary Islands Government), the Education Sector of La Gomera, Tagaragunche (environmental, and ecologist association) and Ecotural (Association of Rural and Ecological Tourism in La Gomera).
The public presentation is to take place next 25th November, to coincide with the anniversary of the declaration of Garajonay National Park as World Heritage by UNESCO. In the course of this act will take place the signing of the Action Plan by the leaders of different entities involved with it.
